They aren't here.

This book is a mess - its got a lot of what looks like copy/paste from a previous edition that doesn't tie up between what is promised and what is delivered.

Buyer beware. Despite claims to have "full army list for US" there is NO data, units, org or anything to field US forces. The Facebook links are dead and result in a landing page.

My FB account has been hacked, bear with me to try and rectify the matter. Every time I fix it, it gets hacked. I have also been away and had no Internet. Please bear with me! I am a one man operation.
The old cession of the rules had full TO&E for the Americans, ivuodated it to include british; either 3iD and 11ACR available separately. 3rd Armour was to follow but real life has hit me with various problems. Sorry for the invonvenience

"Let me get this straight you’re saying that they copied and past British army list?" -- Absolutely not - I've no idea how or why you made that leap.

I'm saying there are what appears to be copy/paste from a previous edition that isn't actually delivered in the new edition.

For example - on page 2 and page 3 there is a statement "Includes full army lists for the US and Soviet forces", when there are no US forces in the book. I don't know the v2 edition, but it looks like it is left-over from that edition rather than written for 3rd edition. Indeed, below the above statement saying full army lists for US on page 3, it even goes on to say "... this book includes a trimmed down TO&E for the British and Soviet Forices... The US/Soviets will be available in a separate supplement available soon". So not only are there zero US listings, but the "full Soviet" listing is actually partial.

To make things worse, page 10 has an org overview...See more

Ok i’m not sure how the cuban missile crisis would fit the rules and i’m going back to 3rd edition because the nuclear rules doesn’t make sense without US

Hi,

I have purchased 3rd edition rules.... When a new edition of the rules is released, it is automatically updated in the library... With Cold War 3..... Do I have to buy the new edition of the rules again? Is there an update pack

Hi there, just downloaded these from the vault and looking forward to reading - I’m wondering if there might be a bit missing from the download package though. The banner / subtitle is ‘contains full army lists for the US and Soviet forces’ - I don’t see this but as the file is named ‘part one’ wondered if there was another file that should have been included. Many thanks G

How does a turn play out? The preview really doesn't reveal much on how the game plays. Will the future TO&E's be free or for purchase?

What is the scale? 1 tank miniature = 1 tank or 1 platoon of tanks or something else?

What distinguishes these rules from the other sets that cover the same topic?

The scale is 6mm to 1:35th!* With it being 1:1 -but can be scaled if you wish to have larger games (i.e use 1x Platoon as 1xCompany). The usual playing forces is 1 x battlegroup (Battalion sized with support) each side; or as per the scenario suggests.

Coming soon will be the US forces, Soviet forces and the VdV (with Special Forces and the 3rd Infantry Division (US 3ID) with a special campaign -including rules for air assaults, parachuting, para-landing and airborne assaults using UH-60, Mil-Mi-8 and Mil-Mi-24 Hind-E -and Il-76 transporters.

*not as insane as it sounds and no, you don't need a playing area the size of several football fields, but can be used for the skirmish rules coming soon (BERLIN '83).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
